Berry Turmeric Smoothie

Berry Turmeric Smoothie

I love a good smoothie! Even more, I love that a smoothie can be any combination of flavors that you have on hand. The possibilities are really endless and that’s both exciting and overwhelming because I immediately want to start a list of smoothie recipes. Stay tuned! šŸ™‚

Add 1 cup of ice and 1 cup of almond milk to the blender.

Blend together and you’ll get this pretty white ice!

Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon of chia seeds.

If you’ve never used turmeric before, it is a pretty strong, distinct flavor.

Tip: Don’t eat a spoonful of it like I did the very first time I tried it. You’ll be sorry. šŸ™‚ The health benefits, like fighting inflammation, are wonderful and it’s absolutely possible to balance the flavor, like in this smoothie!

Add 1 cup of strawberries and 1/4 cup blueberries.

Add 1 tablespoon of raw honey for sweetness.

The berries are tart and the sweetness from the honey balances it out!

Blend one last time and that’s it!

It doesn’t get much faster or easier that this! This smoothie is a little tart, a little sweet and a lot delicious! šŸ™‚ Even the kids like it!! WIN!

My daughter prefers I leave out the chia seeds and that’s just fine with me since she’s having all of the other healthy ingredients!
